Natural Themes works with landowners, communities, and organizations to create healthier, more diverse landscapes. From small garden and habitat projects to larger ecological restoration initiatives, we help plan and establish native plant communities that support biodiversity and improve ecosystem health.

Ecological Consultations

We offer on-site consultations to help landowners understand their property’s existing conditions, identify opportunities for habitat enhancement, and develop practical recommendations for restoration and native planting. Consultations also come with a 15% discount on stock from our Nursery.

Pollinator Gardens & Habitat Creation

We help create diverse native plantings that provide food, shelter, and breeding habitat for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.

Shoreline Restoration

Restoring shorelines with native plants helps stabilize soils, reduce erosion, filter runoff, and establish valuable habitat along lakes, rivers, streams, and ponds.

There are a number programs to help subsidize costs for planning and native plants for shoreline naturalization. Ask us!

Tree Planting, Reforestation, Forest Restoration, Windbreaks and Shelterbelt Plantings

From windbreaks and riparian plantings to large-scale reforestation projects, we help landowners re-establish forests through native tree and shrub plantings. Depending on site conditions and project needs, we offer both hand and machine planting services.

As a Forests Canada planting partner, Natural Themes can also help eligible landowners access subsidized tree planting programs. To qualify, properties generally need at least one acre of suitable planting area with enough space to accommodate a minimum of 500 trees.

Wetland Creation & Enhancement

We help create and enhance wetland habitats that support biodiversity, improve water retention, and provide important habitat for wildlife.

We can work with landowners to connect them with available habitat enhancement funding where available and help guide the process from selecting suitable sites, to site plan development and implementation.

Forest Management Plans & MFTIP

In partnership with Arrowwood Forestry Consulting, we help connect landowners with professional forest management planning services, including plans for Ontario’s Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP).

Eligible landowners qualify for significant reduced property taxes while managing their woodlands sustainably. Learn more at Ontario.ca
